Last weekend we had our first Dutch National in Luyksgestel. I arrived friday in the afternoon, my whole family was there. It was a long time ago we spend a weekend together so it was nice. On friday night we went to a restaurant named "t Pannenhuys owned by Roy Sprengers (maybe some people still know him) but he is a brother of my teammates Dana and Kevin Sprengers. Roy used to race a couple years ago. A few months ago he started a Restaurant together with a friend of him and i can tell you, the food was delicious!! The next day was timetrial, we had 45 minutes to warm up/practise and i felt ok, my gates were ok as far as this was possible because behind the gate it was pretty slippery so sometimes your backwheel slips/spins. Well in my run i made some little mistakes but with a 33.600sec. i finished 5th overall not to bad. Sunday it was race day, my moto wasnt really stacked, i was pulling in my first moto but the leather part of my fly racing pants got stucked between my chain and frontsprocket and i couldnt move it so i finished in last place. I won my second moto and got 3th in my last moto. 1/4 final, i had a inside lane but Roy 259 pulled me and Martijn 15 was on the outside so i cruised behind these guys and finished 3th. The semi was pretty stacked. I had a good gate but VD Biezen was on the inside of me. I followed him around the track, on the last straight we cruised but i passed him to get first pick in the main. I choose lane 3. i had a good snap, and good first straight, took the holeshot and lead the rest of the race, Martijn came close on the last straight but didnt pass me. This is my first win in Elite men and i was happy with that!!!
