Update of the shoulder operation of last Friday.

The intention was an operation of approximately 1.5 hours, but there was more damaged than they thought at first so it took them 2.5 hours before everything was fixed and repaired.

According to the surgeon Mr. Van der Hoeven (shoulder specialist) of the Bergman clinic in Bilthoven, Jelle was able to use his shoulder only for 10% By fixing his shoulder Labrum at 3 places to the front and 1x to the back Jelle will get back 95% of his shoulder functions after 4/5 months rehabilitation .

At this moment he still has a lot of pain but according to the surgeon the pain will decrease rapidly the coming days .

After 4 weeks he will be able to do some exercises etc. accompanied by a physiotherapist.

After 4 months he will be allowed to use a roadbike and after 5/6 months he will be able to race again, so maybe he will return on the track in December.
